The Show Trial of Geert Wilders – Part 1

The following was written by Babs Barron:

Definition -
show trial - a trial held for show; the guilt of the accused person has been decided in advance.
Some background:
Geert Wilders is a Dutch politician who is outspoken about the influence of Islam in Dutch society, a point of view which has attracted much support there as well as opprobrium.

Wilders has campaigned to stop the "Islamisation" of Holland. He compares the Qu'ran with Mein Kampf in terms of the violence it advocates against Jews and other non-Muslims who refuse to convert to Islam, and has campaigned to have the book banned in Holland. Even more contentiously, he advocates ending immigration from Muslim countries, and supports banning the construction of new mosques. He was a speaker at the "Facing Jihad" Conference, in Jerusalem in 2008, which discussed the dangers of jihad, and has called for a hard line against what he called the "street terror" exerted by minorities in Dutch cities. His controversial 2008 film about his views on Islam,
Fitna, received international attention and placed his life in danger from Islamists.

Was Osama bin Laden shot with a bullet soaked in pork fat, denying him a place in paradise?
Yes, if one rather shady website, that peddles gun oil containing liquefied pig fat, is to be believed.
The makers of Silver Bullet Gun Oil claim it contains 13 per cent USDA liquefied pig fat thus making the product 'a highly effective counter-Islamic terrorist force multiplier.'

The apparent owner of the gun oil site, who goes by the name 'The Midnight Rider,' explains how the pig fat will transfer onto anything the bullet strikes.

This 'effectively denies entry to Allah's paradise to an Islamo-fascist terrorist,' Rider adds

How to Defeat Radical Islam

Radicals

What's the Big Idea?
"In the long term the best way to beat radical ideas is to make them redundant," says Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a politician and ardent critic of fundamentalist Islam. During her recent Big Think interview, she told us that this could be done by making clear to young Muslims that there are alternative narratives than those offered by radicalism. Given the death of Osama bin Laden's and the democratic revolutions sweeping the Arab world, are we now witnessing exactly that shift?

Hirsi Ali harkens this strategy to boosting "the immune systems of young minds" so that they are able to recognize totalitarian ideologies and to defend themselves against them, citing a two-pronged approach:
"Part of it is, I would say, a defensive approach to prepare young people that they are going to be targeted by Islamists, that this is the message Islam is going to impart, this is the model framework that they want, these are the goals that they want to achieve. On the other hand, there must be an offensive strategy too where you provide that young group with a completely different narrative: when the Muslim Brotherhood says Islam is the answer to our political and economic and social problems, we must provide reasons why Islam cannot be the answer to all of those.  Islam may satisfy your spiritual needs, but can it really be the answer to our economic and political problems? And then provide the answers to that and why it can’t. That way you prepare young minds when they are approached by radicals to not only ask the question, but to throwback an answer."
There is a historical precedent for this approach, she adds, pointing to the fall of communism. "The communists or Marxist ideologies of the 1950s, 1960s were defeated by providing Eastern Europeans and people living in the Soviet Union behind the Iron Curtain with reasons, arguments why communism was a bad or why Marxism was a bad ideology for the state, why it wasn’t a solution for the economic or social or political problems."

Your Part in the Revolution
Social media tools like Facebook like Twitter contributed, at least in part, to the recent Arab Spring uprisings, evidence of new political narratives blossoming in the Middle East. {eople in the West can also use these technology to help combat radical Islam, says Hirsi Ali. The first step in taking part in this debate is to understand truly what the Islamist movement is all about:
"Listen to what the Islamists are saying.  Go visit and do your own research on for instance, the brand and movement the Muslim Brotherhood.  What are their objectives?  How do they want to get to their objectives?  What are their recruiting tools?  What are they doing?  What are their activities?  What are they doing to get people on their side?  Once you understand that, you visit the mosques, the Muslim centers, their websites, etcetera, and you can then compose a counter message.  You go to and you approach the same people that they’re trying to appeal to and that they’re trying to persuade to take their side, and you provide the same people using the same methods that they are with a counter narrative."
For every website created by radical Islamists, our goal should be to put up a counter website with a counter message, says Hirsi Ali. "Doing this, you’re applying technology to not only explain to young people what is wrong with these totalitarian ideologies, but also to help them actively come up with solutions and answers for their own social problems."
Well, what are you waiting for?

UK fatwa, Islam, suicide bombings
Sheikh Qadri says suicide bombings are against the tenets of Islam
CAIRO – A Britain-based Muslim scholar will issue a fatwa condemning suicide bombings as a brazen violation of peaceful Islamic tenets, an edict that is drawing a showering praise for helping fight home-grown terrorism.

“Today’s tragedy is that terrorists, murderers, mischief-mongers and rioters try to prove their criminal, rebellious, tyrannous, brutal and blasphemous activities as a right and a justified reaction to foreign aggression under the garb of defence of Islam and national interests,” Sheikh Tahir ul-Qadri writes in his fatwa cited by The Independent on Sunday, May 1.

“It can in no way be permissible to keep foreign delegates under unlawful custody and mirder them and other peaceful non-Muslim citizens in retaliation for interference, unjust activities and aggressive advances of their countries.

Tenn. Anti-Terror Bill Advances in Legislature

Good news, but read it to the end. It sounds like the FBI’s Nashville office has submitted to sharia and won’t even take a position on the legislation while at the same time saying they are in cahoots with the Muslim community via Tenn. Anti-Terror Bill Advances in Legislature.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) A contentious proposal that would authorize the governor and attorney general to decide whether a person or group is a terrorist organization advanced in the Tennessee Legislature on Tuesday after assurances from the sponsors that the measure does not target Muslims.

The legislation passed the Senate Judiciary Committee 6-3 a few hours after being approved 12-4 in the same committee in the House. Both measures now move on to finance committees in each chamber.

The original proposal sought to make it a felony to follow some versions of the Islamic code known as Shariah, but the measure was later amended to strip out any reference to a specific religion.
