Judge rules Minn. Islamic charter school must face ACLU’s suit

More potentially good news. via Judge rules TiZA school must face ACLU’s suit – TwinCities.com.

A federal judge on Wednesday shot down a Twin Cities charter school’s bid to dismiss an American Civil Liberties Union lawsuit claiming it promotes Islam, clearing the way for a summer trial.

In a ruling spelling out why the 2-year-old case merits a trial, U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank offered an unusually detailed account of close ties between the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy and the religious organizations that acted as its landlords.

TiZA strongly denies allegations that it promotes religion. Its lead attorney cautioned that the Wednesday ruling reflects ACLU allegations that the school will fight at trial.

“The school is looking forward to its day in court,” said the attorney, Shamus O’Meara. “There are two sides to this story.”

What Ideology is Promoted in American Moques?

ACCORDING TO the Muslim, Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, who testified before the U.S. State Department, 80 percent of mosques in America preach "extremist ideology."

Coming from an entirely different source, the
Mapping Sharia Project sent trained people into mosques in the U.S. to find out how many of them are calling for jihad against America. They discovered that the
majority of the mosques they've investigated so far do, in fact, promote jihad against America, in the Friday "sermons" (known as "khutbah") and in the literature available at the mosques.

In
a speech by Mark Steyn, he said (when answering a question) Canadian Mounties did a survey of Canadian imams. It found 85 percent of the imams in Canadian mosques were "hardcore radical jihadists."

WTF?!: Dearbornistan Jury Requires Terry Jones to Pay “Peace Bond” to Hold Protest; Bond is $1; Jones Refuses to Pay, Arrested!

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s official.  We’ve lost America.  A Dearbornistan jury just found (at about 6:42 p.m.) that Pastor Terry Jones must pay a “peace bond” of thousands of dollars in order to hold his planned protest in front of the Islamic Center of America mosque in Dearbornistan. But District Court Judge Mark Somers charged Jones only $1 in bond, which he’s refused to pay, and has now been arrested and put in jail. Huh? I told you Jones wanted to be a martyr. But he shouldn’t even have to pay $1. Free speech is free, thus the adjective in front of the word, “speech.”

The Truth About Iran’s Support of Arab Terrorists

When it comes to Shia and Sunni, Islamism knows no sect.

April 23, 2011 - by Brian Fairchild

On April 15, 2011, a prominent news story described Iran’s support for Syria’s draconian crackdown on protestors. The story focused on Iran’s widespread meddling in the region, but it missed the key point: Shia Iran’s closest ally in the Middle East is Sunni Syria. Iran deals freely with Sunni Muslims and Sunni countries when it’s in its interest to do so.

Many folks can only see in black and white. As a result, contrary to a mountain of evidence, many policymakers, counterterror specialists, and citizens continue to believe that there is no cooperation between Sunni and Shia because of religious hatred.

While it is true that, on the local level, Sunnis and Shias routinely attack and kill each other in places like Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen, it is equally true that, on the strategic level, Shia Iran’s closest ally in the Middle East is indeed Sunni Syria; that Iran supports all the major Sunni terrorist organizations; and that Iran is planning to re-establish formal diplomatic relations with Sunni Egypt after more than 30 years.

PJM Exclusive: Video from Syria’s ‘Great Friday Uprising’ (Content Warning)

Five videos from today's massacre, with translation and commentary (three are currently exclusive to PJM among English-language media): "As an American with Syrian roots, I want the American people to witness the horror of the Assad regime."
Update: Additional video added Saturday, 8:45 a.m. EST. We will continually update as videos arrive. Don't miss Roger L. Simon: "Syria: What PJM Is Doing".

Syrian security forces, positioned on rooftops, have been picking off unarmed civilian demonstrators with live hollow-point ammunition using high-precision rifles. The Hague Convention of 1899, Declaration III, prohibits the use in warfare of bullets that easily expand or flatten in the body.

A father carries a dead, or dying, child — later identified as ten-year-old Iyad Awad Shehab — who has been shot in the head. The child’s brother screams “Akooya (my brother).”

The videographer pans to show a chaotic situation. People shout “Car!” — a car is approaching down the road to spray them with bullets. The videographer is heard calling out to god:

In the 'Rome of Pakistan,' Christians say they fear speaking out, worry about the future

KHUSHPUR, Pakistan — A church bell, not a mosque loudspeaker, calls people to prayer along the dung-lined streets and inside the crumbling houses of this village. The body of Pakistan's most recent Christian martyr is buried in its graveyard.

Khushpur is almost entirely Catholic, and for decades it has been an oasis for Christians in a nation where 95 per cent of people are Muslim and Islamist extremism is spreading. The village has produced so many priests and nuns that some call it the "Rome of Pakistan."

But Islamist militants' recent murder of federal minister Shahbaz Bhatti, a Christian son of the village targeted for opposing Pakistan's harsh blasphemy laws, has rattled the peace. As they prepare to observe Easter, many of the 5,300 villagers say Pakistan's Christians face more pressure than ever.
"You live with fear," said Rose Dominic, 45, a math teacher. "You can't express yourself."

That detail was intensely argued in a jury trial today in Dearborn district court of Pastors Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp, who burned a Quran last month in Florida.

Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad testified that Imam Hassan Al-Qazwini, who heads the Islamic Center, told him that for some members of his mosque, burning the Quran was considered a major crime. Qazwini expressed concern about how some young members of his mosque might react to Jones, Haddad testified

Pastor Terry Jones leaves Dearborn, vows to return for protest next week

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Controversial Quran-burning Pastor Terry Jones left Dearborn Saturday after unsuccessfully staging a protest outside of the Islamic American Center, but not before vowing to return the following week for another protest.

Jones and his associate Wayne Sapp left for Florida, but say they'll hold a protest at 5:00p.m. next Friday. This time, however, it will not be at the Islamic center, it will be at the courthouse. Jones says his constitutional rights were denied when he was arrested and unable to protest on Friday.

The development came after a jury found a proposed protest by Jones and his associate Wayne Sapp outside the Islamic Center of America, the largest mosque in the United States, was likely to breach the peace and incite violence.
