Passing over Saudi Arabia would shorten the flight to the Islamic Republic. According to the report, the missile tests were carried out in order to ensure that Israeli planes will not be shot down while flying over the kingdom's territory.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised on Sunday after winning the parliamentary elections in the country that he would formulate a new constitution in Turkey.

“The citizens sent us a message that we must build a new constitution through negotiation and consensus,” said Erdogan in a victory speech from the balcony of the ruling party in Ankara, adding: “The new constitution will be discussed with our opponents.”

A count of 99 percent of the votes indicates that Erdogan’s ruling party has won 50 percent of the votes, which amounts to 326 seats in parliament.

Zawahiri’s New Videotape Shows Leadership Crisis in Al-Qaeda

For al-Qaeda's number two, it's a question of trying to keep the organization together in the aftermath of bin Laden's death.
The video of Ayman al-Zawahiri released on June 8 is most noteworthy for what he did not do. Despite being the official second-in-command of al-Qaeda, he did not declare, or even hint, that he is now the group’s official head. This indicates that Zawahiri is fearful of creating a fissure by asserting his authority, aware that the rank-and-file is not united behind him. It also means that the top leadership has been unable to communicate to decide on a successor, allowing contradictory reports that Zawahiri, Saif al-Adel, or Hamza bin Laden have taken the helm to spread confusion.

On June 9, a video apparently from al-Qaeda’s media arm made its way onto a jihadist forum. The tape announced that Hamza bin Laden, at only 21 years of age, was the new al-Qaeda chief. It was then deleted. He made his debut in a video in 2005 showing a battle between Pakistani forces and jihadists.

An associate of Osama said in 2008 that Hamza was being groomed to replace his father. His escape from his father’s compound on May 1 is the type of story that jihadists crave in a leader. However, experienced terrorists won’t be enthusiastic about being led by a 21-year old who only became their leader because of his last name.

Taliban deny responsibility for the attacks, which killed scores in Peshawar
PESHAWAR – At least 34 people were killed Saturday, June 12, in twin bombings in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, the latest attacks since Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's killing last month.

"The first blast was quite small but as people gathered close to the site of the explosion, the second one, which was real big one, went off," a senior local police officer told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

A small blast rocked the Khyber Super Market district at 11: 30 pm, which drew onlookers before a second powerful explosion jolted the area.

Police 'covered up' violent campaign to turn London area 'Islamic'

Police have been accused of “covering up” a campaign of abuse, threats and violence aimed at “Islamicising” an area of London.

Victims say that officers in the borough of Tower Hamlets have ignored or downplayed outbreaks of hate crime, and suppressed evidence implicating Muslims in them, because they fear being accused of racism.
The claims come as four Tower Hamlets Muslims were jailed for at least 19 years for attacking a local white teacher who gave religious studies lessons to Muslim girls.
The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered more than a dozen other cases in Tower Hamlets where both Muslims and non-Muslims have been threatened or beaten for behaviour deemed to breach fundamentalist “Islamic norms.”
