Threatened by New “Palestinian” Detroit Pistons Owner Tewfiq “Tom” Gores

By Debbie Schlussel

In early April, I told you about Tewfiq “Tom” Gores, the Israeli/Lebanese/”Palestinian” half-Arab/half-Greek/wholly cheesy billionaire who was buying the Detroit Pistons and its parent company, Palace Sports and Entertainment–Michigan’s largest sports and entertainment conglomerate–from the family of the late William Davidson.  I told you about Gores’ anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, pro-HAMAS relatives who incorrectly identify themselves as “Palestinians” and some of whom are mobster thugs in organized crime in Flint, Michigan.  This week, the NBA approved Gores as Pistons owner and the transfer was completed to much hype.  But I’m concerned about unsolicited contact and threatening phone calls from people allegedly representing Gores and his friends.

Cheesy Billionaire Tewfiq “Tom” Gores & His “Palestinian” Entourage @ Pistons Game

Sleazy Lawyer Keith Sirlin Threatened Me on Behalf of New Pistons Owner Tewfiq Tom Gores & His Friends

Not long after I wrote the piece and just a few hours before the holiday of Passover was about to start on Monday, April 18th, I received a threatening phone call, allegedly on behalf of Gores and his friends from a Detroit area attorney, Keith Sirlin, a sleazy looking guy who does criminal defense and bankruptcies.  Mr. Sirlin threatened me and told me that he had Tom Gores’ best friend Wade Mc-Something-or-other from Flint, whom he said was sitting next to him in his office listening to the call.  He told me he was calling on behalf of Tom Gores and his friends and that I had better remove my post about Gores.  He lectured me, “People of our religion [Sirlin is nominally Jewish] never write things like that.  We don’t do that.”
Me:  “Huh?  Everything I wrote about Tewfiq Tom Gores is absolutely correct and documented.  You have no problem with his anti-Semitic, pro-HAMAS, mobster family?  What do you mean ‘we never?’  If you were a good Jew, you’d know not to call me just a few hours before Passover with your absurd threats.  Who told you to call me?  Tell me again what the name of your client, Tom Gores’ friend is?”
Keith Sirlin:  “That’s not important.  What’s important is that you remove what you wrote about Tom Gores.”
Me:  “Um, is that a threat?  Either you tell me the last name and correct spelling of Tom Gores’ thug friend who is your client, or I’m hanging up in 4 seconds. 4-3- . . . .”
Sirlin kept refusing to name the guy, imploring me that I “must” remove my article on Tewfiq Tom Gores,  and trying to get me to stay on the phone.  I told him unless he named the guy I was hanging up.  And I did.  Click.

I don’t know Keith Sirlin.  His call was unsolicited and frightening.  I felt threatened.  And I doubt it was out of the blue.  No one operates in a vacuum.  And neither does Tewfiq Tom Gores.  His “Uncle Tom” Joubran is the mob godfather in Flint, according to testimony before a U.S. Senate Committee in the 1980s, as I noted on this site.  And “Uncle Tom” is the one who sponsored Gores’ immigration to the U.S. and mentored him in business.

As I’ve noted, the late William Davidson donated to my campaign both times I ran for the Michigan House of Representatives.  He was a proud, pro-Israel, Republican Jewish businessman.  He ran his business with hard work, not mobster threats and organized crime.  He is turning over in his grave at the man who has since taken over his beloved basketball team and entertainment empire.

I will not be coerced by Tom Gores and his thugs.  Frankly, he and his entourage–they look like the male, “Palestinian” cheesy version of “Charlie’s Angels,” or the idiot characters in “Saturday Night Live,” complete with tacky ’70s-look suits and chest hair.

But Gores’ Tony Montana-wannabe wardrobe, heavage, and not-so-veiled threats using a Jewish lawyer thug won’t stop me from writing what I want on this site.

Sorry, Keith and Tewfiq, I’m no Luca Brasi.  It’s your reputations–not me–who will sleep with the fishes.

Lebanese army won’t allow a repeat of the al Nakba day, report

http://www.yalibnan.com/2011/06/02/lebanese-army-wont-allow-a-repeat-of-the-al-nakba-day-report/

May 15 was the al Nakba day and June 5 is
the al Naksa day.

Fatah leader in Lebanon Munir Maqdah said on Wednesday that all Palestinians including Fatah and Hamas groups will take part in the Naksa Day rally scheduled for June 5.

“All Palestinian factions will participate in the event, including institutions from Lebanon’s civil society.”
He told the Central News Agency.

“The May 15 clashes are a ball of fire that will keep on growing until it burns the occupier until the Palestinians are granted their right to return to their homeland,” he added.

Palestinian sources told the news agency that the demonstrators are planning on marching to the Lebanese-Israeli border on June 5, where they will set up tents at Maroun al-Ras and at the Khiyam prison.

They added that preparations and contacts are underway with Lebanese authorities, Hezbollah, and other parties in order to stage Sunday’s rally.

Ten protesters were killed and 112 were wounded in a shooting incident at the Lebanese-Israeli border where Palestinians were demonstrating on Sunday May 15 , security sources said.

June 5 marks the Naksa day the day of defeat . It is the day when the Arab armies were defeated by Israeli in the 1967 six day war . Syria lost the Golan Heights, the Palestinians lost the west bank and Gaza and Egypt lost the Sinai desert.

Security sources told Kuwaiti newspaper al Anbaa that the Lebanese army won’t allow a repeat of the al Nakba day protests that took place in Maroun al Rass. The sources stressed that the army will not allow Israel any more excuses for more killings

One source told the daily that the army recently succeeded in foiling an attempt to fire a rocket towards Israel … the person was detained just before firing the rocket.

Jews to be barred from entering Egypt's Delta village

By Ashraf Sadek - The Egyptian Gazette

CAIRO - Residents of el-Behira Governorate in the Nile Delta vowed Thursday to prevent thousands of Jews, who arrive en masse at the tiny village of Demito near Damanhour City, 50 km southeast of Alexandria, every year during the last week of each December to attend the birthday celebrations of Abu Hasira, a Moroccan Jewish holy man, who was buried there some 150 years ago.
Jews flock to Egypt every year to visit the shrine of Abu Hasira.

         "After the January 25 revolution, which toppled over the Hosni Mubarak regime, the Jews will not be allowed to enter Demito any more and endanger the public morals and hurt the feelings of its 5,000 residents," Moustafa Rasslan, a lawyer, said.

         He called on the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which has been ruling the country since February 11, to enforce a 2001 court ruling that compelled the Culture Ministry, responsible for the site where the annual gathering takes place in late December and early January, to cancel the Abu Hasira celebrations all together.

       "If the SCAF does not enforce the ruling, Damito residents will not allow the Jews come to their village to attend the week-long Abu Hasira Mulid (festival), where they used to behave in a way that contradicts Islamic traditions and public morals under the very nose of security officials of the ousted regime," he said.
       The court ruling reflects what the village residents and Egyptians feel about this celebration, that started after the signing of the Camp David Accord in 1978.
       Since then, the Egyptians have been questioning the validity of this event arguing that the Jews had never held the Abu Hasira festival in Demito before they left the country after Israel State was founded in 1948 .

       "Jews didn't hold a festival at this site when they were in Egypt. It's just after the normalisation of ties between Egypt and Israel under the rule of ex-President Mubarak, the residents said.

       Despite the court ruling, thousands of Sephardi Jews have been keen to attend the festival during which Egyptian security forces block all roads leading to Damito.

Security is always tight because of anti-Israeli sentiment in the wake of the current wave of violence in the Palestinian territories .

       Although Damityoo residents insist that they have nothing against Jews , they insist that the Jews and Israelis should feel ashamed of themselves to visit their village  while they are oppressing the Palestinians.
       A female residents said that the Jews drink alcohol, which is forbidden in Islam, to be blessed as part of their veneration of the rabbi.

      "The Jewish visitors usually get drunk and engage in obscene dancing during the celebrations," the woman, who asked not to be identified, said, demanding that the Abu Hasira festival should be cancelled after the revolution and the deposing of Mubarak, whom she dismissed as Israel's friend.

      The villagers also complain that the authorities close down their shops and services for the Jewish festival, which reaches its highest point with an auction of the key to Abu Hasira's shrine.

      The key is sold for millions of dollars, the woman said, adding that the principal of a nearby primary school has to close down the facility during the festival.

      Damito dwellers, led by lawyer Rasslan, have officially requested the SCAF to stop the festival because of their discontent about the Jews' misconduct.

     They have also demanded that the Essam Sharf Government to move Abu Hasira's remains to Israel and change the name of their village from Damito to Mohamed el-Dura, the Palestinian young boy whom Israeli forces shot to death in cold blood during the second Intifada eleven years ago.

      Both requests must be answered by the Government after the Revolution, residents said. According to villagers, Jews of Arabic stock and Israeli businessmen, represented by officials from the Tel Aviv Embassy in Cairo, have been trying in vain to buy the plots of land surrounding the shrine.

     They have offered LE5 million per feddan (acre) adjacent to the shrine, but the owners refused these “cheap offers , the village residents the opposition Al-Wafd newspaper.
      Yacov Abu Hasira, a rabbi from southern Morocco who wrote Talmudic commentary, was the head of the Jewish community in Damanhur before he died in 1881. He has since been revered for miracles attributed to him.

       His real name was El-Baz, but he took on the name of Abu Hatzira (Father of the Straw Mat) when, having been denied access to a Palestine-bound ship by its captain, he was said to have reached the Promised Land on a flying carpet.
The villagers dismiss the story as a myth.
       Recently, there has been an unconfirmed report that the secret Egyptian security agents have foiled a bid by some anti-Israel activists from vandalizing the Abu Hasira Shrine.

       No security official was immediately available to confirm or deny this report.

Opportunity Missed, Opportunity Made

President Mahmoud Abbas and his prime minister Salam Fayyad.
"The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." This well-worn quote from Israeli diplomat Abba Eban can be trotted out once again in light of the recent "reconciliation" between the two main Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas.  Just last week, Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and his prime minister Salam Fayyad (both Fatah men) had Israel on the diplomatic ropes, harnessing stability in the West Bank and growing international pressure on Israel to ensure recognition of an independent Palestine by the UN General Assembly in September. By (re-)joining forces with the Islamists of Hamas, Fatah has almost surely sacrificed their hard-won advantage for a tentative show of Palestinian unity. What's more, this "missed opportunity" presents Israel with its own chance to score some diplomatic points and advance peace negotiations from a strengthened position.
Some analysts view the Fatah-Hamas unity agreement as a positive step for both the Palestinians and for the possibility of peace. If the two groups can set up and maintain a joint government of the West Bank and Gaza, and if Hamas can be convinced to moderate its eliminationist stance toward Israel, then the PA will be able to proceed with UN recognition-or even negotiations with Israel-as a unified authority, fulfilling a clear pre-requisite for true independence.
This prospect, however, is extremely unlikely. First, the bloody rivalry between Fatah and Hamas has been ongoing since the PA's violent schism in 2007, which resulted in a Hamas-ruled and a Fatah-ruled West Bank. Each faction's security forces have repeatedly cracked down on the other side, arresting or assaulting party leaders and members, displacing elected officials, shutting down affiliated media outlets and civic groups, and breaking up-often violently-gatherings and demonstrations. Meanwhile, PA soldiers in the West Bank have received US training and have been coordinating their anti-Hamas efforts with Israel.  In this context, the creation of a professional, "non-factional" Palestinian security force-a core element of the unity agreement-is simply too tall an order, particularly in Gaza and particularly with competitive elections slated for next year.
Second, the PA's chances of securing General Assembly recognition for Palestine are greatly reduced with Hamas on board. While Abbas and Fayyad had received signals of support from the European Union and other powerful international players before the agreement, most Assembly members will be hard pressed to support statehood for a Palestine governed by an organization whose raison d'etre is the destruction of another such member.  And while some observers assume that Hamas' decision to reconcile with Fatah-facilitated by Egyptian interlocutors-means it is prepared to soften its stance toward Israel, this is a bad assumption to make. If anything, regime change in Egypt has strengthened Hamas by removing an enemy in Hosni Mubarak and increasing the influence of its parent movement, the Muslim Brotherhood. While Hamas may be looking to move its headquarters out of a suddenly unstable Syria, now is not the time for it to drop its rockets and recognize Israel.
Moreover, even if Hamas did opt to "recognize" Israel-perhaps to gain access to the copious foreign aid on which the PA depends-such recognition would be meaningless without a corresponding renunciation of the "right of return" of Palestinian refugees to (historic) Palestine. Given Israel's already delicate demographic balance between Jews and Arabs, any but the most token influx of Arab refugees would destroy Israel as a Jewish state. As a result, any pledge to recognize Israel that doesn't address the right of return is simply not credible.
Indeed, in order to take full advantage of this latest "missed opportunity," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must set his sights beyond Middle Eastern politics-as-usual. Instead of simply staving off UN recognition of Palestine by reminding the world that Hamas is a terrorist organization and that the PA is not ready for peace, he must now reiterate that Israel is willing to make peace with any state or authority that will truly accept its existence. Such acceptance must go beyond simple recognition or "normalization" of relations, as offered by the Arab League's 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. And it must go beyond Netanyahu's own insistence that Israel be recognized as a "Jewish and democratic state," a formulation that implies Israel should be defined by its (former) adversaries. Rather, accepting the existence of Israel means giving up-permanently-on the "right of return."
In return, Israel must be willing to leave (most of) the West Bank and accept an independent Palestine next door. Israel needs peace to survive-its occupation of over 2.5 million Palestinians is clearly not sustainable-and it cannot afford to miss opportunities as recklessly as the Arabs.

US to boycott UN world racism conference

From: AP

THE Obama administration will boycott a world conference against racism being held at UN headquarters in September because of concerns about anti-Semitism.
The UN summit in September marks the 10-year commemoration of the 2001 World Conference Against Racism that was held in the South African city of Durban.

The US and Israel walked out of that meeting over a draft resolution that criticised Israel and equated Zionism with racism.

The United States will not participate in the upcoming conference because the Durban process "included ugly displays of intolerance and anti-Semitism", Joseph E. Macmanus, acting US assistant secretary of state for legislative affairs, wrote in a letter to Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today.

Sen Gillibrand welcomed the administration's decision.

"It is an insult to America that the United Nations has decided to hold the Durban III conference in New York just days from the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks," the New York senator said.
"We all witnessed how extreme anti-Semitic and anti-American voices took over" the original gathering in South Africa and a follow up conference, the senator wrote.

The administration's move was also lauded by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, an umbrella of 52 groups including B'nai B'rith International, the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee and Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America.

The US and at least seven other countries also boycotted a 2009 follow up event that the UN held in Geneva, citing concerns that Islamic countries would demand a denunciation of Israel and insist that all criticism of Islam be banned.

Ireland aims to be home of Islamic finance in Europe

Sharia-compliant financial regulations will make Dublin a centre of excellence for Islamic finances, taoiseach says

Ireland has launched a bid to become the home of Islamic finance in Europe as it seeks to rebuild its once dominant financial services sector.

The taoiseach, Enda Kenny, who was swept to power on a wave of public anger at the taxpayers' €70bn (£62bn) bailout of failed banks, told the Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) that he was doing everything he could to "ensure" Dublin became "a centre of excellence for Islamic finances".

Irish tax laws and financial regulations are now sharia-compliant, he said, and the government had recently signed double-taxation agreements with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

"There is first-mover advantage. If they [Islamic institutions] feel comfortable in a particular jurisdiction and you develop a cluster, more will follow," said Ken Owens, chairman of the IFIA. He said there was currently "a scramble" for Islamic business internationally and Ireland is just behind the UK in terms of adjusting its laws to be sharia-compliant.

Sharia law prohibits the payment of interest on loans or overdrafts, or the receipt of interest, and also prevents investment in certain categories including defence, adult entertainment and gambling.

"Their investment universe is quite limited. Islamic funds want to own the ship or the building, not a share in it. They want to own things outright because they can't pay interest. They want commmodities, infrastructure, manufacturing, property," said Owens.

On the mortgage market, institutions buy the house or the commercial real estate; the buyer then pays rent instead of interest.

Owens said Irish and UK financial institutions, which were devastated by the financial crisis, saw opportunities worth billions in Islamic finance, either seeking to get a toehold in Islamic countries or attract Islamic institutions to Dublin.

"The US and European asset management firms are already out in the Middle East and Asia with their products but now you've got those guys in China going 'I know China better than any US or European investor' and coming to Europe to compete with us," he said.

Owens, who is a partner in Pricewaterhouse Coopers Ireland, has one Middle-Eastern client who is about to open nine funds in Ireland; and the Irish Central Bank has recently authorised several Islamic institutions to operate in the Dublin's International Financial Services Centre.

The value of funds administered in Dublin is worth €1,890bn, split evenly between Irish and non-domiciled funds.

June 26Th: Churches Across America Opening to Islam!

By admin
In this follow-up to the “More Than 50 U.S. Churches Agree to Hold Koran Readings!!” article, we see another Christian “leader” who is foolishly taking a stand for Islam.
Christians, Jews and Muslims to Share Pulpits
Churches across the States will be opening up their pulpits to clergy from the Jewish and Muslim faiths.
What is the point of being a Christian if you are going to promote other religions?
A few synagogues and mosques have also signed up to the Faith Shared project being hosted by the Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First on June 26.
For one day only, clergy will take to the different pulpits to read from their own scriptures.
Father Pat Earl, pastor of St. Peter Parish in Charlotte, North Carolina, told the Catholic News Service it was a “good thing for the church” to publicly recognize the existence of Islam.
Actually speaking out against Islam would be a “good thing for the Church”, and America.
He said he had been inspired to sign up to the initiative after hearing reports from Charlotte-based interfaith group Mecklenburg Ministries that local Muslims were suffering with the fear of Islamophobia.
Pastor, did you even begin to ask yourself why non-Muslims speak out against Islam? Did you ever ask yourself why Christians are persecuted across the Islamic world? Do you really think it is all just a coincidence and has nothing to do with Islam?
The Rev. C. Welton Gaddy, president of the Interfaith Alliance, encouraged churches to get involved in order to make a statement about pluralism and religious freedom.
Reverend, if you are for religious freedom why are you promoting Islam? Let’s take a look at “religious freedom” in accorddance to Islamic Law.
JUSTICE CHAPTER: NON-MUSLIM SUBJECTS OF THE ISLAMIC STATE (AHL AL-DHIMMA)
o11.1 A formal agreement of protection is made with citizens who are:
(1) Jews;
(2) Christians;
(3) Zoroastrians;
(4) Samarians and Sabians, if their religions do not respectively contradict the fundamental bases of Judaism and Christianity;
(5) and those who adhere to the religion of Abraham or one of the other prophets (upon whom be blessings and peace).
o11.2 Such an agreement may not be effected with those who are idol worshippers, or those who do not have a Sacred Book or something that could have been a book.

(A: Something that could have been a Book refers to those like the Zoroastrians, who have remnants resembling an ancient Book. As for the psuedoscriptures of cults that have appeared since Islam (n: such as the Sikh, Baha’is, Mormons, Qadianis, etc.) they are neither are nor could be a Book since the Koran is the final revelation.)
o11.3 Such an agreement is only valid when the subject peoples:
(a) follow the rules of Islam (o11.5) (A: those mentioned below (o11.5) and those involving public behavior and dress, though in acts of worship and their private lives, the subject communities have their own laws, judges, and courts, enforcing the rules of their own religion among themselves);
(b) and pay the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)
THE NON-MUSLIM POLL TAX
o11.4 The minimum non-Muslim poll tax is on dinar (n: 4.235 grams of gold) per person (A: per year) The maximum is whatever both sides agree upon.
It is collected with leniency and politeness, as are all debts, and it not levied on women, children, or the insane.
o11.5 Such non-Muslim subjects are obliged to comply with Islamic rules that pertain to the safety and indemnity of life, reputation, and property. In addition, they:
(1) are penalized for committing adultery or theft, though not for drunkenness:
(2) are distinguished from Muslims in dress, wearing a wide cloth belt (zunnar)
(3) are not greeted with “as-Salamu ‘alaykun”;
(4) must keep to the side of the street;
(5) may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims’ buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed;
(6) are forbidden to openly display wine or pork (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays;

(7) and are forbidden to build new churches
o11.6 They are forbidden to reside in the Hijaz, meaning the area and towns around Mecca, Medina, and Yamama, for more than three days (when the caliph allows them to enter there for something they need).
o11.7 A non-Muslim may not enter the Meccan Sacred Precinct (Haram) under any circumstances, or enter any other mosque without persmission (A: nor may Muslims enter churches without their permission).
o11.8 It is obligatory for the caliph to protect those of them who are in Muslim lands just as he would Muslims, and to seek the release of those captured.

o11.9 If non-Muslim subjects of the Islamic state refuse to conform to the rules of Islam or pay the non-Muslim poll tax, than their agreement with the state has been violated. (dis: o11.11) (A: though if only one of them disobeys, it concerns him alone).
o11.10 The agreement is also violated (A: with respect to the offender alone) if the state has stipulated that any of the following things break it, and one of the subjects does so anyway, though if the state has not stipulated that these break the agreement, then they do not; namely, if one of the subject people:
(1) commits adultery with a Muslim woman or marries her
(2) conceals spies of hostile forces;
(3) leads a Muslim away from Islam;
(4) kills a Muslim;
(5) or mentions something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.
o11.11 When a subject’s agreement with the state has been violated, the caliph chooses between the four alternatives mentioned in connection with prisoners of war (o9.14).
PRISONERS OF WAR
o9.14 When an adult male is taken captive, the caliph considers the interests
(O: of Islam and the Muslims) and decides between the prisoner’s death, slavery, release without paying anything, or ransoming himself in exchange for money or a Muslim captive held by the enemy.

If the prisoner becomes a Muslim (O: before the caliph chooses any of the four alternatives) then he may not be killed , and one of the other three alternatives is chosen.
Back to the suicidal Christians.
He said: “We’re calling upon congregations to say by means of their actions, ‘We come from different traditions, hold different beliefs and engage in different rituals in our churches, mosques and synagogues, have different beliefs yet emphasize religious freedom and search for answers to life’s questions through our respective faiths.’”
He said the event would also help to counter the perception abroad that Americans are hostile to Islam.
“It will send a message that Americans respect Muslims and Islam, as they respect religious differences and freedom of religion in general,” he said.
Rev, Islam calls for the dominance of CHRISTIANS, and allows lying, rape, and slavery. Which is your favorite part? With or without your help Reverend, AMERICA WILL BREAK THE BACK of the Sharia movement!
