Terry Jones Arrested After Refusing $1 Bond

A jury on Friday afternoon determined after a day of court hearings that Florida Pastor Terry Jones and his associate Wayne Sapp would be likely to breach the peace. A bond was set at $1.

A six-person jury decided today in Dearborn's 19th District Court that Quran-burning Florida Pastor Terry Jones and his associate Wayne Sapp are likely to breach the peace.

A peace bond was set by Judge Mark Somers at $1 on condition Jones and Sapp not enter upon the premises of the Islamic Center of America, where they planned to protest Friday, or the nearby area for three years. Jones and Sapp refused to pay the dollar, were then arrested and sent to Wayne County Jail.

After the arrest, a crowd of protestors, about 20, surrounded the police car outside the courthouse, shouting things like, "Jones is a racist."
